TRANSFER WEEK!!!!! Oct 23rd 2016

So this week is transfer week and i am super excited for it because my District just got a whole lot bigger and we have about 3 new missionaries coming in to my district so i am super super excited about it and i get to have my old Zone leader by in my district!!!!!! he is one of my favorites here and we got a long super well back in my first area mainly cause i lived with him for about a month or two but i am super excited to have my district get new people!!!!! but i'm not going anywhere haha i will probably be here in Miagao till my 1 year mark.. so no worries about transfers for me just yet ;)

So this week has been a very interesting week.... It has been full of ups and downs lately honestly and a lot of things have been unraveling with why the group we are in hasn't been progressing within the last 8 years since it became a group... but we have been really trying to figure it out and figure things out and praying about how we can help it progress more and it is starting to make sense on what we need to do... but anyways... So this week has been AWESOME cause in just one day we ended up finding about 5 new families and they are all super amazing and we have this one family that when we came back the Nanay was super super super super happy and hyper to see us and to be able to hear from us haha as in i have never seen someone so happy to see missionaries in my mission like she is.. but i love it cause it makes us feel so welcome and loved and one of the other families it is a mother who is a Widow she has 4 kids and is in about her late 20's early 30's but when we went there we were just asking around the barangy to find where our other appointment was and the lola let us in and we started talking to them and we ended up giving her husband a Blessing because he wasn't feeling well and when we were done her daughter the Widow came in and sat down with her little kids and so we asked them where this other family lived and we figured well right now would be a perfect opportunity to share the Gospel with these people since we had some time to spare at the moment and so we started to share with them and as i was talking with the sister we started talking about the Plan of Salvation and we just felt inspired by the Holy Ghost about it and i told the sister about God's plan for us and about how are families can be together forever through this plan and i felt like i should tell her that her husband is back up in Heaven with our Heavenly Father and he is watching over her and her family and that he loves them and that everything will be ok and it was just so amazing cause she just started to hold her children and started to cry tears of happiness and was just more than excited to have us come back and to teach her more about our message and how our families can be together forever and it was amazing so i will keep you updated about that next week :)

The worst thing was so we were supposed to have a Baptism this upcoming week this Saturday but something happened... So as we have been visiting this family the daughter is ready but nanay not so much so we have been helping nanay out and reteaching her and she was fine about her daughter getting baptized first but last saturday we went to go fill out the baptismal record for her and the nanay just seemed mad like she wasn't happy to see us really and told us that her daughter isn't ready... even though she is so we actually talked with the daughter about what is going on and she said that her mom and her faught about her being baptized into this Church and we aren't sure why this happened all of a sudden but we are still working with her she is still reading and praying and doing everything else but because of this conflict she doesn't wanna have her nanay mad at her cause her nanay supports her and her baby and it's the only family that she really has at the moment but we are trying to really focus on her and how this Gospel will help bless their lives and their family. and it made me think of this talk by Elder M. Russell Ballard about Salvation and he says " that Salvation is not easy." and it's true. if it wasn't easy for the Savior why would it be easy for us or easy for Investigators or for us missionaries to help these people if it wasn't easy for the Savior? and it really just made me think about it and it and realize ya this is the hardest thing we are doing and that it is hard to help people and their Salvation but it is worth it when it happens and we help them make that first Covenant with Heavenly Father and we can all learn something about these words from Elder M. Russell Ballard that Salvation is not easy and we will always have trials but we can make it through.

That is pretty much all that i can remember from this week that i know of and i hope you guys had a super fun Sunday and i love you all and miss you all and i hope you have a wonderful week and i will see you next week on Halloween!!!!! I love you all kag nahidlaw ako sinyo!!!! Remember who you are.

Pagpalangga,

Elder Merrill
