APRIL 24TH

Hello everyone!!!!! how are you all doing! This week has been weird but good and i have got to change so much for my self honestly within this last week.

So first off never ever mix a drunk pinoy with a pinoy holding a chicken ya i know doesn't make sense to me either but we ended up seeing them fight don't know how that ended up happening but the guy holding the chicken was not happy and was punching while still holding the chicken... just a bit of an interesting way to start off the week...!

Next so after we had gotten home from emailing last week my companion realized that we didn't have a key to our gate and so we were locked out of the house and we are just like what the freak do we do.... he ended up looking up at the roof and back and me and just sighed and said so uhhh how do you feel about climbing up the roof and going in and unlocking the door for us? So i started to take out all the stuff out of my pockets and started to climb the gate to get to the roof and yes i know probably not the smartest thing that two male missionaries should do but lets be real here when aren't male missionaries doing something that will get them hurt in the mission? i know all of you male RM's have a story so don't even ;) but as i am climbing the fence i was trying to get past the spikes on the top of the fence or well close to the top of it, so i thought i had gotten my foot above them cause it felt flat on my shoe until i went to climb up cause the spike went through my shoe and stabbed my foot and it stabbed it pretty well... hurt to walk for about an hour but i tried with the other foot and ended up doing the same freaking thing.... after stabbing both feet i finally got up on the roof which sucked cause it is made out of tin so it is super super freaking hot so i am thankful i didn't burn my self :) but we were able to get into the house and guess where the key for the gate was... sitting outside on our hammock... Palagput. but that was an interesting experience! ;)

So i went on splits this week because my tatay is the DL and had to do an interview for a Baptism and i got to lead the area and show the Elder i was with around and i totally felt like we were gonna get lost because i've only been here for 3 weeks coming up on 4 but i felt like it was gonna go bad... but it actually went really well and i got to grow so much and it helped with the language cause it was an Elder from the Philippines that only spoke tagalog and ilonggo so the whole time i got to speak to him which i was impressed cause it really puts you to the test to see how much you know and splits do the same thing cause we got to all of our appointments and i got to lead and start us off at every appointment and the appointments went really well actually and i just felt like i had grown so much after it but it was an awesome experience for me to have and see how it is to lead an area and be new still to it and to experience what an american with a pinoy companion feels like ;) haha it is rough.... but it is really cool!

I got to extend 3 baptismal dates this week for 3 of our investigators that are just progressing so freaking much!!!! but it was so awesome cause me and my companion were reviewing lesson two from the night before when i taught it while on splits just to see what they had remembered from it and all and we both felt the spirit super strong there and he looked over at me and he was like they are ready, you'll be up in a minute and i was like wait what?? and he said ya how do you feel about setting a date for them and i was like alright ya i feel good about it and wow was it scary to do especially in ilonggo but it was super amazing and the Spirit was so strong there and they all accepted the Baptismal Date!!!! but it is so cool and so amazing to see them just want to make that change for themselves and to feel so happy whenever they read the Book of Mormon and whenever we teach them a lesson they are so happy and really want to know the truth which is so amazing to see!!!!

So we are starting over in one of our areas because it is kind of dying down and so we are having to start over fresh because people either aren't progressing or they don't want to listen to us which sucks and gets a little annoying especially when they let you come in and sit and then everyone just ends up leaving and it is like uhhh ok....  Basta, Bahal Kamo. but it is still good so i get to go through this week and pretty much see what it looks like to if you were to open up a new area and see how it should look like! so wish me luck and keep our investigators in prayers to come to Church and know the truth!

Thank you for all of you that have sent me pictures! it means a lot and i know that you all truly love me unlike the others that slack off with sending pictures to me ;) just kidding guys i know you all care and love me and i love you all so freaking much and you all are amazing and the best! Palanga Ko Kamo Gid!!!! Halong!!! :):):):)

Palangga,

Elder Merrill
